11. Other Cinemas Just Dont Compete
While typically your needs for everything from Godard to Godzilla will be catered for, it is still a relatively small cinema and, as a result, cannot possibly show everything released. When the entirely admirable to show gems instead of all blockbusters means you have to go elsewhere though, the Tyneside's appeal really sings true. The alternative is usually a fairly standard multiplex cinema, and arguably its more about what you watch than where you watch it, but with the exception of IMAX a standard screening in such a venue just lacks the same charm and ambience: the audience is louder, the seats are less comfortable and their snack game is nowhere near as strong. When the Tyneside becomes your go-to venue, you start to become a little spoilt. And that's no bad thing.
