15 Things Only Tyneside Cinema Fans Will Understand
10. A Screening In The Classic
The Tyneside offers films in four screens: the Classic, the Roxy, the Gallery, and the Electra. The first of these, the Classic, is aptly described by the cinemas own website as the heart of the place. A beautiful auditorium with distinctive (and super comfortable) red seats, sofa seats, a balcony, a stage curtain this is cinema as it should be. Youd expect the price of such comfort and grandeur to be rather on the excessive side, yet the difference in cost between a visit to the Tyneside and a multiplex is minimal, and unquestionably worth it. Of course, if the film you wish to see isnt in the Classic dont let that deter you, as the other screens all offer their own sense of charm found lacking elsewhere.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
