17 Disneyland Secrets They Don't Know Want You To Know‏

15. Hidden Mickeys

At this point the concept of Hidden Mickeys might be fairly well known, but Disney themselves refuse to cop to it. For the uninitiated, a Hidden Mickey is pretty much what it say on the tin: a representation of Mickey Mouse that has been inserted subtly into the design of a ride, attraction, or other location in a Disney theme park, Disney properties, movie or other Disney product (thanks, Wikipedia).

There are the three circles - the head and ears - that are concealed in the background of movie scenes, in the designs of sewer grates in the parks, even in the landscapes of their video games.

They were first discovered all the way back in 1989, and are thought of to have started appearing in the seventies, and since then people have discovered dozens if not hundreds of the things throughout the parks.

For the Disneyland 50th anniversary they decorated the park with fifty new Hidden Mickeys, which was the first time anybody involved with Disney admitted such a thing existed - cast members are otherwise instructed to dismiss any and all queries about Hidden Mickeys, and to pretend like they don't exist. The swine.
