While some of the bigger Next stores have the shoe boxes with each pair in on display for customers to pick up and buy with no hassle, smaller stores still have a designated shoe cupboard, with towering piles of boxes one on top of the other, making it impossible to find what you're looking for and even harder to reach them when you do spot the right pair. Also, some dim wit always puts the boxes in the wrong places, so you find those suede dolly shoes that customer just asked for two months later hidden under a massive poster for sunglasses. You're constantly unsure as to what stock is actually in there, and find yourself telling white lies to customers and directing them towards the Next online website where they'll DEFINITELY find the pair they're looking for.
