This striking and frankly bizarre representation of Jesus was intentionally dropped into the waters off San Fruttuoso in Italy by Guido Galletti in 1954 (coincidentally, the year Godzilla was created - could the Italians have disturbed the giant reptile's peaceful slumber and set him on his rampage?). Sitting 55 feet below the water's surface, it's unlikely that you'll be able to see the Christ of the Abyss yourself unless you get some scuba gear on, but it'd be one hell of a story and the view would be reserved only for you and any neighbouring aquatic lifeforms.
5. Wreck Of The SS America - Canary Islands
Sitting literally on the coast of Fuerteventura on the Canary Islands, the towering SS America has been shipwrecked for 20 years since it ran aground in 1994. Originally built in 1940 and serving as a passenger vessel during World War Two, the America had been sold as a luxury hotel ship but was wrecked during its transportation to Thailand. The ship was left to nature and has slowly been deteriorating ever since, with pieces of the SS America periodically falling off and the ship itself listing at steadily sharper angles. Currently there is so little of the original ship left that its remains can only be seen during low tide.
