1. KFC Has Had Promotional Tie-Ins With The Looney Tunes, The Flintstones And Nintendo
Over the years, KFC has followed the lead of the likes of McDonald's by aligning itself with other popular products as an advertising gimmick. Beginning with a tie-in with the Looney Tunes franchise in 1994, KFC has also teamed up with toy-car-makers Matchbox, Nintendo's Pokémon, Lucasfilm's Star Wars, ABC's cartoon The Flintstones - as well as most recently sponsoring the Big Bash League Twenty20 cricket tournament in Australia and international short-form matches too. Additionally, the company has also sponsored the KFC YUM! Centre Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky - where the University of Louisville men's and women's basketball teams play - since its opening in October 2010.
