18 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About Nelson Mandela

As well as his awards and honours, countries and organisations have also lavished many different accolades Mandela's way. In 2001, Mandela became only the second-ever person - and the first still living - to be named an Honorary Canadian Citizen (an honour just six people to date have received), and in 1990 he became the last-ever winner of the Soviet Union's "Lenin Peace Prize" (which awarded people who had "strengthened peace among comrades").
