15. There Wasn't A Ride At The Hollywood Park For Almost 30 Years

Though it's typically thought of as a theme park, with rides, the majority of Universal Studio's attractions are actually more like exhibitions rather than rides (though obviously those tastes are catered to as well). That much shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to anyone familiar with the park's history.

As it has always remained a working film studio, the park's appeal was linked closely to that experience until as late as 1991 - almost 30 years after it was opened to the public. That's when the ET Adventure opened a year after its debut in Florida - where it remains one of only two founding rides still open, with the Horror Makeup show.
