18 Things That Will Happen If You Visit Scotland

There's more to this country than Rabbie Burns and haggis, laddie.

Everyone wants to be a Scot. Scotland has a reputation for being a country that loves a party, hates the English and only eats food that is deep-fried. This is true to a certain extent, but it's mainly fish and chocolate that get the deep-fried treatment and it tastes better than you'd think. Whilst it is a fact that you can buy whisky flavoured condoms from vending machines in public restrooms across the country, there is more to Scotland than their ability to have a good time. There are places in Scotland that will make it hard for you believe that you're still in Britain. With its white sandy beaches, hidden underground caves and perfect locations to see the Northern lights, Scotland is truly a beautiful country to visit. But what makes it so appealing is the locals. Scottish people are some of the friendliest bunch that you'll meet and they welcome tourists with open arms. They'll indulge you with tales of their heritage, sing you ballads of their local area and they'll prove to you how great their country really is. After all, Scotland gave birth to Harry Potter, Sean Connery and Irn Bru so the place is sort of a big deal. If you're lucky enough to get a chance to visit Scotland, then you'll be in for a treat and there are a few things that you're bound to see on your journey.
