8. We Know As Much About Other People's Pets As If They're Our Own
It is definitely fine for people to love their pets. Pets are a part of our family, but thanks to Facebook, they are a part of everyone's families. Some people will post daily pics of their pets doing everything from just sitting there to just standing there. Even though we'll talk profile pictures later, some people even use their pet as their profile picture. You're not a dog, so why use your dog as your profile picture? Even worse, some people's pets have Facebook pages. Before Facebook, we would have to go over to someone's house to see their pet, or wait for the family Christmas card. Now we know almost every time someone else's pet takes a dump in the back yard.
7. Announcing Your Relationship (And Breakup) To The World
In the days before Facebook, when you started a relationship, you basically told your close friends. Nowadays, you are basically announcing it to the world by "making it official" on Facebook. One the flip side, unless you had deleted the post, when you break up with someone a nice big ol' post shows up stating that you are now single. For those on the outside looking in, it can be quite entertaining because we all have that one friend that is in a relationship one day, out of a relationship, the next day, and in another relationship the day after that. With each new relationship started, they are the happiest they've ever been, until a couple days later.
