Icon, the UK's first double-launch coaster, is the most recent roller coaster on this list and was easily the most exciting new ride to arrive in the UK since The Smiler six years earlier. Luckily it lived up to the hype and is now one of the UK's most essential coasters.
It's not the fastest launch coaster out there nor is it the most forceful, but Icon is still absolutely awesome. It's a twisty, intense and fierce ride that will, by the end, leave riders stunned in their seats, but very, very satisfied at the same time.
Enhanced further by its terrain-hugging layout, sharp turns and lap-bar restraints which will leave riders feeling very exposed (in a very good way), Icon is like nothing else in this country and it's a wonderful addition to Blackpool Pleasure Beach as well as the UK's ever-growing and always impressive coaster collection.
