20 Little Known Facts That Will Make You See Famous Actors Differently

9. Geena Davis Is A Super Genius And Near-Olympic Standard Archer

Probably best known for being the slightly naive Thelma of Thelma and Louise fame, Geena Davis is a lady with fingers in many pies. In addition to being an Oscar-winning actress, Davis is fluent in Swedish, a member of Mensa, plays three instruments, and has her own institute on gender in media. Oh, and she€™s also a near-Olympic standard archer. Davis has stated that she was not athletic growing up, but was introduced to archery in 1997 and took to it very quickly. Just two years after she began the sport, she tried out for the US Olympic archer team going to the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Incredibly she came 24th out of 300, so although she may not have made the team, you know she€™s pretty damn good with a bow and arrow (in addition to seemingly everything else she€™s turned her hand to).
