20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About Apple

10. They Owe Everything To Samsung

Apple like to put across an image of themselves as genius trailblazers on the cutting edge of new technology, getting to the next awesome future gadget or gizmo years before any of their competitors have even thought of it. As evidenced by the Xerox thing, though, that isn't always the case. In fact much of their recent success €“ the ground breaking likes of the iPod, iPhone and iPad €“ should be shared with Samsung. It's that other global tech giant that, for example, owns the patent and therefore provided the retina display of the iPad. They even have to manufacture it for Apple. Samsung also make about 30% of the A8 chips which make the iPhone 6 do all of its cool stuff. In many ways Samsung are like the protective older brother of Apple, with 275,133 in their electronics division compared to Apple's 92,600 overall. An older brother that sometimes sues its sibling for nicking loads of its ideas, anyway.
