14. Scissors

If you're a lefty then the chances are one of the first times in school when you realised this was when you were first presented with a pair of scissors and sat there feeling like you had a hand of thumbs as you desperately attempted to cut up a piece of paper. If you were lucky there might have been a few pairs of left handed scissors available in the classroom - although chances are there weren't enough to go around all the left handed students in the class. Like the tin opener, the pair of scissors is the bane of the lefty's life, cropping up time and again from the cradle to the grave.
