4. Khrushchev Gave JFK's Daughter The Puppy Of The First-Ever Dogs In Space

Pushok and Strelka were the first-ever dogs sent to space by the Soviets and they produced a daughter called Pushinka ("bit of fluff") - who just so happened to end up in the White House with the Kennedy family. Bizarrely, during a time of political brinkmanship between the USA and the USSR at the very height of the Cold War in 1961, Khrushchev attempted to ease tensions by presenting the dog to President John F.
