It makes a little sense, in a cause/effect kind of way: they spend their working time wistfully watching everyone else have fun and get wasted, so that's exactly what they want to do when they're off work. However, the only thing worse than dealing with an obnoxious, drunken customer is dealing with an over familiar, obnoxious, drunken customer who thinks the rules dont apply to him and isnt scared of the door staff.
