18. He Was The First Person Ever To Be Made An Honorary US Citizen
In 1963 President John F Kennedy, who had just been granted power to do so by Congress, proclaimed Winston Churchill as the first-ever Honorary Citizen of the United States. Amazingly, only Churchill and Mother Teresa have been given honorary US citizenships during their lifetime - and there are only six more in all who have been granted them posthumously.
