24. More Than A Few Of Your Friends Are Engaged

Yet another girlfriend has announced her engagement, and your heart is beating with fear because inside your brain you're still mentally a sixteen year old who just tried their first cigarette. What do you mean you're getting engaged? Isn't that something we only do when we grow up? Then you realise you are grown up now. You've got a job, maybe your own place, maybe someone who you're hoping to be with for the foreseeable future. But marriage?! Getting the cash together for this month's electricity bill to cover those stupid storage heaters in your flat is your priority; not getting hitched. Still, it's nice to think of all the weddings ahead of you. So many future discos to attend!
