18. "Maybe You're Trying Too Hard"
On those rare occasions that your friends can pull themselves away from their partner's clutches and spend some time with you, you get accused of trying too hard when you meet new people. You're consciously making an effort - which isn't a bad thing - but it's been so long since you've interacted with a stranger that your flirting isn't really flirting anymore, it's more like an extremely unsubtle making ritual and you're struggling to pull it off. You also know that you're not trying to hard because you're still drinking blue WKD through a straw and you haven't brushed your hair.
