Freddie Gray, a 25 year old African American citizen of Baltimore was arrested on 12 April 2015 after allegedly possessing an illegal switchblade. On route to the police station, Gray sustained several injuries, which subsequently caused him to fall into a coma. Less than a week later, hundreds of residents of Baltimore gathered outside the Western District Police Station protesting against the mistreatment of Gray, who died at 7am the next day. Protests continued for a further six days, with 6 police officers injured and 34 arrests.
Laura began her career at WhatCulture over a decade ago as an Executive Assistant, where she played a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
