88 year old Normandy veteran Fred Glover was just 18 on D-Day, June 6 1944.

On that day he was wounded, captured and later escaped from a Parisian hospital aided by the French Resistance. He said his most vivid memory was "the way we responded when the glider crashed and were immediately confronted by a German patrol. What struck me was that we weren't affected by the crash but immediately sprung into action just like we had been trained to do."
