5 Best Irvine Welsh Novels
Irvine Welsh, for the uninitiated, is a Scottish novelist, who over time has also dabbled in short stories television and play writing. His work often garners something of a cult status, not just down to his subject matter, but also because of his use of Scottish dialect throughout. His themes include, though are not always limited to: drug use, the working class, Scotland, music, football hooliganism. These are some pretty touchy subjects, but Welsh manages to create a world where the novels and their characters often cross over into one another and not only are people willing to accept to such topics that could be seen as wildly controversial, but they actually enjoy them and the characters presented to them. In this article I would like to show you 5 of Welsh's novels and hopefully spark your interest to go out and pick at least one of them up!
