5 Best Smartwatches You Can Buy In 2015

5. Pebble Steel

Pebble deserves at least an honorary place on this list, because it's these guys that really began popularising the idea of smartwatches. Before Android Wear existed, and before Apple Watch came along and blew everyone, there were the e-ink smartwatches of Pebble. The latest Pebble smartwatch may lack a touchscreen or super-high resolution (which, let's face it, is imperceptible to the human eye anyway), but it has a few advantages over its rivals. Firstly, it syncs with both iOS and Android, letting you read notifications from apps on either platform. Next, its 1.26-inch e-ink display may have a low resolution, but because it doesn't give off its own light (like a Kindle) it's much more visible in bright daylight than its rivals. It's also got a built-in light for when it gets dark. The Pebble Steel has a delightful 4-5 day battery life too, which pretty much doubles that of its nearest rivals. On the downside, the Pebble Steel doesn't have a touchscreen, and its app library is a little limited, but it's worth considering if you want a good-looking no-fuss smartwatch for receiving notifications from your phone.
