5 Scary Halloween Books For Kids That Will Also Terrify Grown Ups

Something Wicked There have always been books that are aimed at children but which are so well written, adults pick up on them as well. The Harry Potter books are a classic example of this literary phenomenon. The bottom line is that many kids love to be scared, just as adult readers enjoy a good scare. When I was a child, my mother bought me only Enid Blyton books. I enjoyed Enid Blyton, but her books were overshadowed by my discovery of the Stephen King books in my father's bookshelves. I read them all in fascination. It wasn't until I grew older that I realised that there are a lot of scary books pitched specifically for children. The funny thing is that the classic kiddie horror book often does a Harry Potter act for the adult and appeals to them as well. With Hallowe'en around the corner, I have listed five books below that are aimed at kids but are universally enjoyed by people of all ages. Please share your own stories below.
