As the ride closed forever, the atmosphere became a mixture of celebration and optimism.
On the final day of operation there were long queues of people waiting to take one last trip into the movies.
Although all goodbyes are sad the end of The Great Movie Ride's era means a new beginning for a different attraction.
Currently there's no firm date set for when Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway will be opening at Disney's replica of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Hopefully the theatre won't be empty for too long.
