There are loads of Hunger Games locations in the state of North Carolina.

Firstly, you can visit the actual District 12, which is the Henry River Mill Village in real life. In this abandoned town, filmmakers found a ready-made set for the Mellark bakery and the Everdeens’ run-down home.

It's pretty much a ghost town which has attracted fans who have been seen freely walking around there despite it being private property that is currently up for sale.

From there, fans can drive to the site of The Reaping scenes and then on to a forest where parts of the games were shot. There are camping centres that also offer Hunger Games themes survival courses for the die-hard adventurous fans.

What else to do there: North Carolina has a bunch studios and locations for other films and shows including Iron Man 3, One Tree Hill and Homeland that are available to visit. There are also tonnes of beaches and it has a warmer-than-the-UK kind of weather.
