7 Ridiculous Harry Potter Moments That Are Only In The Books
2. Crabbe And Goyle Transform Into Girls Using The Polyjuice Potion – The Half-Blood Prince
During The Half-Blood Prince, Malfoy spends most of his time inside the Room of Requirement, trying to mend a broken vanishing cabinet. Crabbe and Goyle are positioned as lookouts along the seventh-floor corridor, but to avoid suspicion, Malfoy forces them to transform into young girls using the Polyjuice Potion.
To put it bluntly, this whole scenario makes no sense. For one thing, you’d need an awful lot of Polyjuice Potion to keep up this scheme for a whole year. And where did they get the hairs from? (In The Goblet of Fire, Barty Crouch Junior has to keep the real Mad-Eye Moody imprisoned so he has a constant supply of hair.)
What’s more, why did Malfoy force Crabbe and Goyle to morph into young girls? If they’d transformed into older, bulkier boys, they could have used their own clothes. But instead, they have to make Polyjuice Potion and find outfits to fit their new bodies.
Fifteen years after the release of The Half-Blood Prince, fans still struggle to wrap their heads around this ludicrous plot point.
