8 Bizarre Things Science Has Taught Us About Sex

4. Women Can Make Their Voices "Sexier", But Men Can't

20th TelevisionIn a study in 2014, it was found that women were able to manipulate their voices so that men found them more attractive.

In a study of 40 people, with an equal split of men and women, participants were asked to alter their voices to project four different traits: dominance, intelligence, confidence and sexiness. These were then assessed by the other participants.

Turns out that when a woman wants to sound sexy, she will lower her voice, slow her speech and go a little husky. This, apparently, really brings all the boys to the yard.

Conversely, when the guys attempted it, similarly lowering their voice and slowing speech, they were actually rated as less attractive that when they were using their normal speaking voice.

The study also found that both women and men can successfully make themselves sound more intelligent and more dominant, but women struggle to make theirs more confident.

So, ladies, if you want to attract a man, go for the full Barry White. Fellas, just be yourself, because she ain't falling for it.
