8 Huge Predictions For Harry Potter And The Cursed Child

8. Someone's Going To Find The Resurrection Stone (And It's Probably Going To Be Harry's Son)

Towards the end of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Harry finally manages to get his hands on the Resurrection Stone, one of the three Deathly Hallows originally in the possession of Cadmus Peverell. The Resurrection Stone €“ as the name suggests €“ allows the owner to bring back shades of the dead. The stone is housed inside a Snitch, and it's only when Harry accepts the inevitability of his death as he heads towards the final confrontation with Voldemort that it's revealed, and Harry uses it to see the shades of his parents, as well as Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. After this, Harry throws the stone away in the forest, and it's pressed into the earth by a centaur's hoof as it heads into battle. But the stone is very much still on the grounds of Hogwarts, and intact. How far could it have been pressed down, anyway? It would make a huge amount of sense that Harry's son, Albus Severus €“ who himself heads for Hogwarts €“ would be the one to find such a stone. Perhaps many of the horrors of Harry's adolescence are kept from Albus, or watered down €“ and it's only through finding the Resurrection Stone that he learns the complete truth. Conversely, Albus may be visited by a much more sinister shade, in the form of Voldemort, Tom Riddle or a Death Eater. Regardless, it would be a fantastic way to connect The Cursed Child to the previous series €“ and it is fairly conspicuous that the Resurrection Stone was never properly destroyed. On top of that, why do you think the poster for the production is based on the Snitch...?
