8 Reasons To Be Excited For Universal's A Celebration Of Harry Potter
5. The Panels
Even though Universal hasn't yet released the schedule for the weekend, we know that there's going to be a few different panels running across the days at both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.
The panels cover many aspects of just what went into translating J.K. Rowling's iconic books onto the big screen. If you love the Harry Potter movies, or are just fascinated by what it takes to bring to life a film franchise of this magnitude then you may want to set some time aside to take in a panel or two.
As well as the Expo, MinaLima will also be appearing at a panel all of their very own. The pair will discuss their 10 years working on the Harry Potter franchise, as well as their latest work on Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. They will also be displaying some of their props and also discussing the work that they did at Universal's Diagon Alley.
How about learning some wand combat? An interactive panel with Wand Combat Chorographer Paul Harris will be taking place. This panel is being hosted by Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, and if you have ever been there you may have seen the wand training on display there. Having tried and failed at a number of the interactive windows in the Wizarding World, this certainly is training I could do with!
Not just touring the world, Harry Potter: The Exhibition will also be hosting a panel at the Celebration. The creator of the Exhibition Eddie Newquist and head prop-maker Pierre Bohanna will be discussing the Exhibition as well as the stories behind some of the props.
The Warner Bros. Studio Tour London has another panel at the Celebration, this time looking at Creature Effects. Nick Dudman is an award-winning special make-up effects artist who helped bring to life the strange and wonderful creatures of Harry Potter. Nick worked will be discussing the skills that it took to create the Aragog and Buckbeak to the screen. But Nick won't be alone. At this panel he will be joined by no other than Professor Flitwick himself, Warwick Davis.
