8 Ways We're Getting Ready To Go To Mars
4. Getting New Space Suits

For a trip to Mars, we're going to need some fresh new threads. The current space suits used during space walks on the ISS still use a design that is over 40 years old, and only have a limited lifespan before they need to be sent back to Earth for a tune up.
For a trip to Mars that could last more than a year, NASA and any other space agencies with their eye on deep space travel, will need to come up with a new and improved design. Not only that, but they're need something suitable for more than just spacewalks, as the astronauts will be grooving around an alien planet's surface.
NASA's new Martian prototypes are designed to allow astronauts to explore the Martian landscape comfortably and safely, whilst at the same time rocking a kind of Space Goth aesthetic.
These suits will hopefully be ready for testing by the mid 2020s as part of the asteroid lassoing ARM project that we mentioned earlier.
