If you're a chronic procrastinator the, good news, because scientists reckon that means you're also more creative.

According to research, as many as 20% of adults admit to being chronic procrastinators, but research has shown that those who procrastinate tend to have their most creative ideas when putting off their "real work".

One study asked people to rate their procrastination levels, and then asked their bosses to rate their creativity and found a correlation between the two. Then, in the lab, participants were asked to come up with a business idea. One group was allowed to do this whilst playing solitaire or minesweeper, whilst the other had to come up with them straight away. Those who procrastinated tended to come up with more creative and innovative ideas.

It is thought that the added pressure of working on-the-fly encourages more improvisation, flexibility and creative thinking.
