Okay, Trojan Planets are basically the social butterflies of the universe. Whilst they're not exactly covered in confetti and tequila, but compared to the stately, lonely orbits of most planets, they're positively buzzing.

Most planets are happy to stick to their own orbits, but in the case of a trojan system, two or more could be orbiting on one path at any one time. The closest one to us (not counting the little asteroid that trails around after Earth) is one of Saturn's moons, Janus (rather appropriately named after the god with two faces) which was always getting mixed up with Epimethus.

No one could quite figure out their orbits for either of them, with many wondering whether they were actually a moon orbiting a moon in some kind of crazy moonception set up. Turns out they were just partying it up on the same orbit the whole time.

In other solar systems, things just get bigger, with trojan planetary systems of up to five or six party animals, all hurtling around the same orbital path. It is even thought that, if life were to spring up on one of these systems, it would look very different due to a "cross pollination" effect opening up a huge range of evolutionary paths.
