Apple Watch: 10 Reasons You Shouldn't Buy One

3. The Cost Is Insane

A lot has been made already of the price tag Apple have put on the product, but it bears repeating because it is absolutely extortionate. The collection will range from $349 to $17,000 (£299 to £13,500 in the UK) depending on what edition you go for, the metals it's made from, and the straps you want with it. At the lower end of that scale you could have a nice holiday away somewhere, a tailored suit, or a Dominos pizza every Saturday night for 6 months. At the top end, that's the cost of a deposit on a spacious two bedroom flat in Mile End. Apple aren't exactly renowned for making their products instantly affordable (or even letting them gradually slide in the realms of reasonable cost) but for a product that looks considerably more like it'll be an accessory rather than a necessity, it's a staggering price to slap on a first-gen item. That said, if you're the sort of person who ever needs reminding just how financially comfortable they are, being able to roll up a sleeve and see an Apple Watch starting back at you is a quick and efficient way to do so.
