7. The Attractions

At this year's party Disney have given some of their rides a spooky makeover.

During MNSSHP the lights in Space Mountain are all going dark and with a brand new soundtrack. There are absolutely no lights to be seen, including in the star tunnel. This is a simple trick that's really effective. There were plenty of screams coming from our rocket as we hurtled around the track in utter darkness with the new loud soundtrack booming around us. Quite a thrilling experience.

The Mad Hatter now appears to control the lighting over at Mad Tea Party. A fun and colourful display that works brilliantly with the spinning tea cups. It seemed almost a shame to only have this lighting display on during the Halloween party.

Pirates of the Caribbean had some extra pirates this year. Gunpowder Pete was on the loose in the attraction whilst a number of pirates in the queue were on the hunt for him. I liked the live pirates in the ride, they were a great addition to the traditional ride, especially those who were in the queue area.

The additions to these attractions weren't huge but I think it really added to the atmosphere for the event. Hopefully Disney will continue with these at future parties.
