Harry Potter: 10 Plot Points That No One Will Ever Agree On

1. Dumbledore Is Gay

Dumbledore 1 This was a surprisingly controversial revelation when J. K. Rowling made the announcement in 2007. Considering that the books were already Satanic texts seeking to teach witchcraft to impressionable young children all over the world, Dumbledore's orientation should have just been a new and interesting aspect of his character. To some, it was. To others, it's just not true. Dumbledore as gay is never specifically mentioned in the text, although the extent of his devotion to Grindelwald isn't the most subtle of clues. Of course, the trio's codependency with one another might eclipse any other relationship to certain readers, and since the news came from an interview with the author rather than outright from the text itself...well, then maybe it doesn't count, right? (Note: it totally counts.)
"Did I know, in my heart of hearts, what Gellert Grindelwald was? I think I did, but I closed my eyes. If the plans we were making came to fruition, all my dreams would come true." --Albus Dumbledore
