How To Escape From Alcatraz In 10 Easy Steps

5. Climb Up Onto The Roof

Once all the preparations had been made, the time came for the men to finally leave the prison. After placing their dummy heads in their beds and crawling through the tunnels they had dug at the back of their cells the men climbed up the pipes and plumbing of the service shaft to reach the top of the cell block.

They then finished and collected their raft and broke through the rusty air vent that led onto the roof.
