1. Broomhill House, Larkhall
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbdqtYxmSOo Now a ruin, Broomhill House used to dominate the former mining village of Larkhall, South Lanarkshire. The resident ghost, The Black Lady, is thought to be the vengeful spirit of Sita Phurdeen, who was brought to Scotland from India as the mistress of Broomhill's final owner, Captain Henry McNeil Hamilton. Sita vanished in mysterious circumstances in 1902. Larkhall residents have had the Black Lady feature extensively in their lives, but none to the extent of Tom Robertson, who is also psychic. He first encountered her as a young boy, and believes she has exerted an influence on his life, blaming the ghost for breaking his back when the lintel stone he helped carry from the Broomhill ruins to the local pub fell on him. During the 1960s he attempted to exorcise The Black Lady, which was broadcast on TV, and eerily, the death of one of the shoot's production crew in a car crash shortly after, was attributed by Tom to the ghost. He has also claimed to have caught the ghost on camera, a photo which made the rounds of the British press in 1990. Have you been hardy enough to visit any of these sites?
