Tech: Bowers & Wilkins Launches The First Social AirPlay App

Bowers & Wilkins' brand new Zeppelin Air App is a social music player that allows anyone in the room to contribute songs from the Apple iOS device to the Zeppelin Air

Bowers & Wilkins - manufacturers of the astonishingly cool Zeppelin Air speaker dock, have today announced that the release of their new free Zeppelin Air App, which allows music lovers to use music socially and wirelessly in a new, fun way. The app allows users to pool their iTunes music collections from multiple iOS devices together wirelessly so that several iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone users with their own catalogues can build a customised, collaborative community playlist streamed to any AirPlay-enabled music player like the Zeppelin Air, if you're lucky enough to own one. The app directly addresses a gap in the market, as no app so far has allowed users to share music in such a way and create collaborative playlists from mobile device to mobile device. Gone will be the need to swap devices using one dock at a social event, and the consequent gap in music as they are swapped out to allow different guests to share their own tunes with gathered guests and friends. Users can download the free app here to your Apple device, then invite your party guests to do the same, and immediately begin streaming everyone€™s favourite tunes to a playlist you manage on your device - a failsafe no doubt introduced in order to stop the evils of Steps and S Club 7 making too many appearances on the community playlist. The designated DJ can then edit that collective playlist before sending tunes wirelessly via the app on your device to your music player. This app- which requires iTunes 10.1 or later and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 4.2 or later - furthers Bowers & Wilkins commitment to delivering the ultimate music listening experiences through design and technological innovation, and opens the doors to a brand new social music sharing experience. The Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air App is available to download for free here. To find your nearest Bowers & Wilkins stockist, visit Bowers & Wilkins official site.
