The Dark Knight Rises: 6 Best Merchandise For Your Batcave

Here's some great little pieces to kit out your own Bat Cave.

So by now you've probably seen the movie, and if you haven't then you've likely avoided all human contact since it hit the cinemas, and had your fingers stuck firmly in your ears for a good few days in the hopes of keeping those evil spoilers away from your brain. But once you've paid out your hard earned (or begged, or borrowed) cash to sit in a dark room with a bunch of strangers for 3 hours what are your options, well except to do it all again of course? Wash, rinse, repeat and all that. One option we went with is to spend even more money on the awesome The Dark Knight Rises merchandise that is available - great little pieces to kit out your own Bat Cave. Here What Culture! takes a look at some of the coolest pieces out there, and weigh in on what we think you should be buying and what you might want to avoid. 1. BANE 1/6th SCALE FIGURE This ultra realistic scale figure depicts the man who broke the bat in all his intimidating glory. Manufactured by Hot Toys and available from Sideshow Collectibles, this figure based entirely on Tom Hardy's depiction stands approximately 30cm tall and features over 30 points of articulation. This is definitely the coolest action man in your collection, and will certainly scare the bejeebus out of your sisters Barbie dolls! 2. BATMAN 9 PIECE VINYL FIGURE 'COSBABY' SET Look out, these might be cute but they contain some of the most ruthless and nasty villains in Gotham history. Sold as a nine piece set (also including Batman Begins villain Scarecrow, as well as early years Batman and Bruce Wayne) these unique Cosbaby collectibles stand around 3 inches tall and would look great on your desk at work or perhaps you could raise them as your own mini-army. It's up to you really. You bought the things! 3. THE BAT-POD 1/6th SCALE REPLICA How cool would it be to own the Bat-Pod? Imagine zooming round your home town carrying your shopping on it or picking your mum up from work? Amazing eh? This is a 6th scale replica again from Hot Toys and sold via Sideshow Collectibles. This is an authentically detailed piece (as expected) and features machine gun, grappling hook and real light up headlights. Wow! Another cool feature is that this is fully compatible with the 6th scale Bane and Batman figures and is big enough for our favourite caped crusader to pick up a Barbie doll on the way home for a hot ride. Retailing at almost $300 this one needs keeping safe from little hands and girlfriends that just don't understand why you need it. 4. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES CONVERSE (CHUCK TAYLOR ALL STAR LINE) You've seen the movie. You've bought the T-Shirt. You've played with the action fiugures. Now you can wear the shoe! That's right, Bane has his own line of Cons and they're bloody awesome! You can kick ten shades of you know what out of your enemies and look totally bad ass while you do it. Who doesn't love Converse? These are enough to put a smile on even Bruce Wayne's miserable mush. 5. BATMAN Vs BANE DOUBLE PACK Here's one to buy for someone you don't really like that much. Just look at it. It might depict a key fight scene from the movie but DAMN the figures look cheap and tacky. These are the kinds of toys that are still available five years later at rock bottom prices in your local Pound Shop. The box says Adult Collectibles but these are only fit for naughty kids that don't deserve the cool stuff we've already shown you. In fact, if we were given these as a gift we'd probably just use them as extras in our WWE action figures collection. Batman would probably end up jobbing to Big Show every week on RAW, while Bane would fail to get 'over' and end up with a dancing doofus gimmick a few weeks later. *We kindly ask that WWE does NOT steal this idea from us. Thanks* 6. BATMAN, BANE AND CATWOMAN BUSTS Call us immature but we can't think of the word 'busts' without breaking out into girlish squeals of laughter - especially when one of those 'busts' contains the actual bust of Catwoman (titter). These are great items for display, but would have been even cooler if they were a little bigger. Also, some of the details on Anne Hathaway's face are a bit off. In fact she kinda looks like her head has been recycled from a rejected Robin figure. We are told these stand 12 inches tall, but 6 inches is more likely. Size seemingly does count fellas. A lot of the merchandise for the movie is still on pre-order so there will be lots of cool items still to come. Will you be willing to part ways with your money to add any of these to your collection? Let us know below.
