7. The Houses
Every year, Universal puts together up to 9 haunted houses for you to explore and, hopefully, survive. In recent times, these mazes have typically been themed around popular horror movie and TV franchises, with last year's selection offering houses such as Freddy vs Jason, The Purge, The Walking Dead and An American Werewolf In London. In each house, you will journey though these terrifying worlds, discovering the traps and frights that have been meticulously created for you. And of course, you won't be alone, as inside there are scare-actors, whose job is purely to terrify you - a job they are incredibly good at, as it happens. Fair warning: the better houses can get pretty popular and can have queues of up to 3 hours. But that actually allows for plenty of mulling time to ramp up the tension, and that gnawing sense of dread that comes before the best horror experiences.
