Academy Of Villains: Cyberpunk

Academy of Villains returned to HHN for a 3rd year with a brand new show. After last year's had to be reigned in due the impact of Hurricane Irma, it was exciting to see what the group would put together.

Unlike in past two years, this Halloween Horror Nights, Academy of Villains were given the whole of Fear Factor stage to play with, and wow did they play nicely.

Cyberpunk was an incredible show. The dancing alone was worth lining up to get a good seat.

I really liked the story and thought the set was great. It wasn't cluttered with objects, lights and screens helped enhance the performers where needed. We had a great view but doubt there would be a bad seat to watch from.

The post-apocalyptic story was uncomplicated, but even if you couldn't keep up with what was happening, it wouldn't really matter as the performance was so brilliant without any explanation.

What Culture

Everyone in our group enjoyed the show and as we left we marvelled at their ability to perform immaculately in the stifling Florida heat. Cyberpunk was interactive, guests were encouraged to join in when certain symbols appeared on the screen. The acrobatics were impressive and some of the stunts I wasn't sure how anyone could physically do them.

Before seeing the show I was positive I’d like it, but was worried that it might not be worth taking time from the rest of the park to watch it. I need not have been concerned. It was the best show I've ever seen in a theme park.

The show was excellent and you should take time away from being scared to watch this incredibly talented group of people do what they do best.

Final Thoughts

Trick R Treat Halloween Horror Nights Universal Orlando

I really loved all the scare zones. Even though some of my walk throughs were a little better than others, I think Universal Orlando have done an excellent job with these areas.

They're incredibly immersive and fun, especially Vamp 85 and Killer Klowns. I also felt they complimented the houses. The 80s theme that ran through many of the houses, spilled out on to the streets.

As a newbie to HHN I was a little worried that I would find the scare zones a little over whelming, but I needn't have. They were beautiful and full of laughs, places I wanted to be in rather than scary pit stops on the way to the next house.

Thanks for all the screams Universal Orlando, see you next year!
