What Happens When We Die?

5. New Knowledge

There are a few accounts of very odd visions during a NDE, including many of being able to see and do things that they had no previous knowledge of before. Slipacre, on Reddit, describes a weird hallucination after a near-fatal allergic reaction:

"Blood pressure dropped things went white then black, [I] thought maybe this is it and then got wrapped up in hallucinations: lines light on dark which somehow became a wiring diagram of an ocean liner [I] really got into it (was a student, I am not electrician, knew nothing about naval architecture). At some point they gave me a large shot of epinephrin [adrenaline] and I was ready to run a hundred meters in 3 seconds, but they could not find a pulse for a while and they could not transfer me to ICU without one even though I was waving my arms, talking, could not lift my head though."

These experiences are in a similar vein to the classic "out of body" experiences that some people describe, in which they were able to see and here things that they should not have had any knowledge of prior to their death.
