Renowned journeyman Roque Santa Cruz appeared to hit his peak with Blackburn Rovers in 2006/07 when he was having a stormer in front of the goal and consequently helped the team achieve a mid-table finish.

The Paraguayan netted 19 times to become one of the star performers of the season. His moment in the sun though, didn't last much beyond that as he lost his scoring touch in the following campaign and scored only four times in 20 games.

Still, somehow, Manchester City made a huge outlay for his acquisition in 2009 and once again, Santa Cruz flattered to deceive.

After just a single-season, he returned to the Riversiders on loan but the move failed to inspire his rip-roaring self as his performances were way below-par once again.
