Marcus Stewart was the catalyst behind Ipswich Town finishing fifth in the Premier League in 2001. He was the star performer of the team with 19 goals and only narrowly missed out on the Golden Boot.

As its so often the case with underdogs, the Tractor Boys came down crashing to earth the next season, and so spectacularly that they couldn't even survive in the top-flight and got unceremoniously relegated. In the midst of all this, Stewart bagged only six goals.

He then signed for Sunderland that summer and remained the Premier League, but his attacking prowess only got worse. With just a solitary strike in 19 games, Stewart found his best form again with the Black Cats, but only in the lower divisions.
