The Peruvian midfield maestro has the inauspicious honour of having been signed by not one but two terrible Newcastle managers. First time around, he was the final piece of the jigsaw for Kenny Dalglish before he was ousted as Newcastle boss, and while he didn't get to see the fruits of his signing, he would go on to be one of Sir Bobby Robson's most valuable assets. Then, when the unthinkable happened and Solano was sold to Aston Villa, Graeme Souness made an uncharacteristically smart move in bringing him back to the club, to take advantage of his goal creating ability. It was pretty much the best thing he did for the club in an abject managerial run, but it shouldn't be ignored.
