10 Major Issues Individual Spurs Players Need To Improve
10. Andros Townsend (Shooting)
Andros Townsend fancies himself as a Gareth Bale replacement. He loves to dribble forward, cut inside and let rip with left-footed efforts from twenty yards out - but the fact is that he just isn't good enough to replicate Bale's ability to do that. Frustratingly, in spite of that, Townsend insists on shooting almost every time he gets possession in a remotely attacking area. His one Premier League goal for the club in 33 appearances (which was intended as a cross, incidentally) clearly conveys why he shouldn't be doing that - and his four goals in 26 matches in other competitions doesn't show his shooting ability in a much better light either - so he must improve his shooting if this is how he chooses to continue playing. Ideally, however, he'd simply stop shooting at every available opportunity and improve his ability to play the right pass - maybe then he'd get more game time. But, if he must insist on shooting, he needs to get better at doing it.
