10 Miracles Spurs Need To Save Their Season

7. The Teams Above Them Drop In Form

As this article has already touched upon, it's as good as being a foregone conclusion that Chelsea and Manchester City are finishing first and second respectively in this season's Premier League table. There are, therefore, only two Champions League spots available for Spurs to squeeze in to. The ever improving Manchester United currently sit in third place and it's hard to see Louis van Gaal allowing them to take their collective feet off the gas, West Ham United and Southampton are surprising a lot of people this season in fourth and fifth respectively, and sixth place Arsenal always seem to sneak in to fourth at the last minute. Therefore, Spurs are relying on three of those four teams sufficiently dropping in form for them to exploit the situation and overtake them. It seems very unlikely, to say the least, that such a thing will happen.
