In recent years, Spurs have failed to make any truly brilliant signings to improve the team. This was emphatically highlighted after the club sold Gareth Bale and brought in no less than seven new players - with only Christian Eriksen truly impressing in his first season. Granted, the likes of Nacer Chadli, Etienne Capoue and Erik Lamela have certainly improved, but you still can't really call that spending spree a success. This January, Spurs are expected to make new signings again and Mauricio Pochettino really needs to make sure they're good ones. He should go for proven Premier League performers like his former Southampton players Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez in order to give Spurs the boost they need to push on in the second half of this campaign.
