Aaron Lennon has been a good servant to Spurs, having signed nine years ago in 2005 for a bargain £1 million from his hometown club Leeds United. He had so much promise with his incredible speed and willingness to run at defences, but he never reached the heights expected of him - though he has earned 21 England caps to date. His contribution has waned over the seasons, with very little in terms of positives coming out of his last couple of seasons in particular. New Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino showed faith in the speedy 27 year old winger by starting him against West Ham United last Saturday, but he created no chances whatsoever in the whole and only attempted one take-on, which he failed with, and Spurs fans are starting to question whether or not he represents a part of the future of the club or if its time for him to move on. If a player like the aforementioned Memphis Depay arrives, Lennon could be one of the players destined for the chop.
